Werewolf : Eshtara's Chosen

"I can't escape myself
So many times I've lied
But there's still rage inside

Somebody help me through this nightmare
I can't control myself!"

--- "Animal I have become", Three Days Grace
As the end drew closer and its inevitability could no longer be denied, the Garou Nation began to fracture. Old grudges resurfaced, alliances splintered, and suspicion curdled into open hatred. What began as harsh words and territorial disputes escalated into brutal inter-tribal warfare, packs turning fang and claw against one another while the world burned around them.

Amid the chaos, the bane known as the Storm Eater broke free of its bindings and tore through the Umbra like a living catastrophe. Spirit paths collapsed in its wake. Totems fell silent. One by one, the caerns, those last sacred anchors of balance, flickered and vanished, their light snuffed out until none remained. With their loss came a terrible certainty: the Wyrm had prevailed. The war was over. The End had arrived.

Then Gaia died.

Not slumbered. Not withdrawn. She truly died.

With a final, shuddering cry that echoed across flesh, spirit, and memory alike, She succumbed to wounds too deep to mend. Her passing was absolute and catastrophic. Every one of Her children vanished in the same instant, erased so completely it was as though they had never existed at all.

And as the cosmos reeled from that loss, Luna and her brood turned away from trying to rebuild. She abandoned the remaining Celestines to focus on fighting the Wyrm back from reality. Some say they keep Him asleep by forever playing their silver flutes and singing their lullabies. Others say they all died.

And then She came.

Eshtarra, the Songteller, Danu, Mother Earth. Gaia the Elder’s herald. She came to bring us back. Eshtarra becomes the only spirit in the Umbra’s history to ascend from Incarna to Celestine, becoming Gaia the Younger. Using the raw essence of the Wyld and the Great Wyrdstorm to bring us back. She recreated us, gave us new life, and gave us a new purpose.

In one silent moment, She began to sing us back into being…
“Gaia has fallen. Her heartbeat still.
Ash lies silent on root and hill.
I rose on the wind where Her last breath died —
I am the Sky that remains beside.

From broken earth and poisoned sea,
I gather the bones of what shall be.
Spirits of fang, of rage, of flame —
Come forth reborn when I speak your name.

No longer children of what was slain —
You rise through storm, through grief, through pain.
I shape you in thunder, in my light cast,
Champions forged from a shattered past.

Wake, Garou — my chosen claw,
Guardians bound to my living law.
Hunt the corruption, scour the scar,
Cleanse the dark where the lost things are.

By wind, I breathe you into form,
By sky, I shield you from the storm.
Run my horizons, fierce and free —
Your howl now carries the voice of me.

From ruin rise,
Beneath my skies,
Reborn, remade,
Champions of the storm I made.

Go now, children of tooth and cry —
I am your Earth. I am your Sky.
Run until shadow and blight are gone —
And sing my name with every dawn.”
Every spirit would hear the call and feel the pull of Eshtarra’s song. Humans are being reborn for them to bind themselves to, and once again, the Fera begin to walk the Earth anew.

Welcome to Requiem by Night, Eshtarra.
Garou within the Requiem by Night sim are all considered Children of Eshtarra, or Garou. With the End of Gaia the Elder came the end of the Garou Nation. It is only a whisper of a dead world hundreds of years in the past, remembered only by the ancestor spirits.

These days, many Garou blend into other groups of supernaturals to survive in the Basilicas as their own presence of many.

For those wishing to play a different Tribe, please reach out to the Mentors for access to the Rare Application. The mentors will help you work your character concept into one that will work within the lore we have set out. Rare applications hold no guarantee of Approval, but are approved based on how well the concept of the character works to build roleplay for the sim and builds upon the Lore that we have set up. Please note that this is not the World of Darkness many know and love, but a homebrewed world crafted among people with a deep love and appreciation of all the various settings of WoD. Because we are homebrewed, we will not accept any transfers of characters from more Modern WoD based roleplays and sims.
