Chronicles of the Dark Metropolis
: Therianthropes :
: Strains : Avians :

Species: All birds of prey and carrion birds.
Contagion Rate: 50% must survive a significant but not life-threatening attack.
Age Range: 18 - 250. The older a therianthrope gets, the more aged they will appear. The ‘old age’ tops out at 500, but by then, a therianthrope is a literal old person at the end of their lifespan. 250 is middle aged.

Inherent Avian Powers
These are the powers that everyone gets the moment they choose a type at the Civilian rank. They are specific to a type, so no two types get the same abilities, though some may seem similar. Each one will scale up as you gain ranks.
Birds of a Feather: It is said that Birds of the same feather flock together. This could not be more true of Avian Therianthropes. Birds of Prey they are, they tend to be stronger when fighting in groups. [Avian Deal +1 Damage when attacking the same target as an ally. (Total 2 damage)]
Flight Rules: As Birds of Prey, Avians are the only Therianthrope Sub-type that may freely fly without an exclusive power. This means, we will not police Avians on flying. They have natural wings. However, this is only possible in their Beast Form, and their flying speed is equivalent to their natural movement speed. [Flying does not cost Essence, but counts as movement action.]
Active SubType Powers
The powers in this list are advanced powers that can begin to be chosen at the Civilian rank. They are also specific to each type of Therianthrope. If one of these powers is not chosen, there are alternatives on the Advanced Powers page that can be chosen from as well.
Dive Bomb: As Birds of Prey, the Dive Bomb is one of the most familiar maneuvers that natural birds perform when hunting. Imagine now, what an Avian Therian can do? Dive bomb allows the Avian to move and strike as a single action. Essentially, this allows the Avian to leap across the battlefield to strike at a foe that would otherwise be out of range for normal Therians. [Roll: Melee Attack Action]
-
Civilian (1 EP): The Avian is able to use this ability in place of their movement action.
-
Crit Success: Gain +1 Edge to chain an attack against another Target of their choosing. Must be a different target.
-
This Edge cannot be pooled, and will be lost on the end of turn if not used.
-
-
On Success: Deal +1 Physical Damage as normal. Movement Action Expended.
-
On Fail: Movement Action and Attack Action are expended. Remain at the Target’s Location.

Iron Talon: The Talons of Birds of Prey are some of the deadliest of their natural weapons. As such, this serves the Avian Therians just as well in defending themselves against threats. Avians deal damage when performing grappling maneuvers, as well as are able to drag their opponents without expending extra actions. Each Movement to drag their prey counts as an attack action as well, and deals damage as normal. [Roll: Grapple Actions]

-
Rallying Call: When surrounded by Allies, the Avian’s call is empowering. The call can be used to give temporary boosts to their abilities which serves as a survival tool in battle and in the wilds. At higher stages, the Call affects their prey and can cause damage beyond physical. [Roll: Charisma vs 6 + # of Allies (Max 3)]. Rallying Call grants 1 Edge Action to Allies, which may not be pooled.
