Travelling the Basilica
Few ways of grasping the true devastation the Sundering unleashed exist as effective as seeing the world as it is now. Much of the landmasses known of in the Old World sank below the sea; most notably Australia and Europe were all but entirely inundated, as was South America, India, and all of North America east of the Rockies save what is now known as the Appalachian Isles. Some areas were torn from their continental shelves like the California Archipelago, on the other hand an entire landmass of jagged rock rose up in the mid Atlantic known as Lemuria.

New Colombia
Built On: Ruins of Cheyenne Mountain
Tech Level: ★★☆☆☆
Government: Military Dictatorship
Known As: A Powerful Military, Slavers, Conquerors, Wannabe Spartans (out of earshot)
Exports: Steel, Copper, Slaves
Info: New Colombia views itself as the rightful heir to the Old World legacy of the United States, though others might debate this rather a lot. Though it can hardly back the claim, the Basilica claims all the lands surrounding the American Sea—as well as the sea itself, for that matter—as their rightful territory and contest that Basilica Achlys should be ruled by them as well. It is surrounded by heavily irradiated desert lands due to the War of Ruin, and as such lives and dies based on its army, which is the largest one in the world by far due to its mandatory military service of its youths and forced conscription of any wandering tribes it can capture.
The New Colombian Legions go on campaign regularly, seeking to gather resources and slave labor. It also has one of the harshest policies on mutation, with those who show any deviation in the mandatory annual physical examination being either executed or forced into the ranks of the New Colombia Army’s sixth legion, infamous for being little more than cannon fodder.

Ichcansiho
Built On:
Tech Level: ★☆☆☆☆
Government: Elective Monarchy (Divine Kings/Queens)
Known As: Dinosaur Tamers, Human Sacrificers
Exports: Bananas, Honey, Cocoa Beans
Info: The Yucatan Peninsula suffered perhaps the worst temporal anomalies of any place in the world during the Lost Decades, the end result of this being the Basilica of Ichcansiho. Some few hundred Mayans from various points across their golden age, long before the Conquistadors came and toppled the native cultures as they were fated to some centuries later. These displaced Mayans mixed with a few handfuls of modern era mesoamerican survivors, and over the centuries to come merged into a peculiar hybrid civilization where ancient ideals and modern sensibilities have collided in odd ways. It is in most ways a true Mayan Citystate, ruled over by a divine king, however unlike its ancient Mayan contemporaries democratic ideology has become blended into religious interpretation and now once every seven years a series of trials of the Body, Mind, and Soul are administered which chooses the next king, as it is thought the gods and ancestors bring good luck to their chosen champion in the middle world.
Ichcansiho is known for its highly productive agriculture, largely on the back of its tamed Dinosaurs. The technique used to manage this feat is highly guarded, and is thought to involve a number of rare plant extracts from the surrounding jungles. Their largest export is undoubtedly bananas, which they are the only source for in the world.

Shinshu
Built On:
Tech Level: ★☆☆☆☆
Government: Shogunate
Known For: Anachronistic Edo-Era Government and architecture, Courtesan-Idols
Exports: High Quality Fruit, Rice, Mushrooms
Info: The Yakuza have a near absolute grip on Shinshu, as it was Yakuza survivors who discovered the anchor and set things in motion. They like to style themselves based on feudal Japan which they idolize, and are led by a self-styled Shogun, with the Basilica’s six districts lorded over by a Daimyo, or Yakuza-lord.
Shinshu is one of the less technologically advanced Basilicas, as the Yakuza are prone to isolationism to ensure their control remains unchallenged, and most of the major tech facilities of Japan were down in the lowlands that were sunk. There is a weird sort of anachronism to the place now—The Edo period, with random bits of 21st century technology mixed in.
