The members of the Seamstress Union are the weavers of the Dark Metropolis. Its members are known for being attentive, empathetic souls who help their fellow citizens with a multitude of emotional situations. They're artistic beings known for telling others the importance of self-love, inside and out. Their appreciation for the body is equal to that of one's mind, hence the faction being well known for showing its support to the performing arts and sex workers of all sorts.

 

The Union's purpose is to promote free thinking, no matter the career paths its members pursue. Our goal is to serve the Dark Metropolis with a kind smile, a soothing touch, and to remind everyone that there's nothing wrong with relishing in sexuality.  We're not shy about our beliefs in what we find beautiful, but nine times out of ten, what we say will make others around us blush bright red. We work just as hard as the average Jane and Joe, the only difference being that we REALLY enjoy what we do! There are those, however, who feel there is more to the union than beautiful bodies and kink lovers. Those of the union are known to be tight-knit, even with their numbers growing daily.

[OOC] Behind the scenes, Seamstresses take pride in being in the know about the Dark Metropolis. While methods of learning such information may be unorthodox to some, for the Seamstresses, it's common practice. The Seamstress Union provides unique ways to gain power within the city. Relic hunters, ladies and gentlemen of the night, even those investigative types, have opportunities within the union. Brawlers have their place too! Security of all sorts is always welcome.

::: Way of the Seamstress :::

When it comes to the way of the Seamstresses, they run in a strong and connected manner within themselves. Need insight into how that is?  Look no further than below!

1. Always play safe. This doesn't just mean having protected sex! I mean, do… but make sure when you enter any scenario that you have your bases covered. Have multiple backup plans. We're seamstresses, make sure you live with a high thread count!

2. It's important to use the buddy system. With our beliefs and the way we work, always knowing someone has your back makes our work easier. Take time to learn a bit about your fellow seamstresses! Spending time at the union headquarters is one of the best ways to do this.

3. Information, no matter how small, is always useful. When learning something new, report it to higher ranks. Life and death situations should automatically be reported to the faction officers or leader herself.

4. Union Meetings are a must! Failing to attend three meetings will be an automatic expulsion from the Seamstress Union. If there are special circumstances in which you cannot attend, speak with one of the highest-ranking members of the union (officers or leader).

5. DO NOT declare war on other factions! If you are finding yourself learning information about another faction wanting to attack the union or harm one of its members, immediately contact higher ranks. To society, we are peaceful. When we attack, we do so methodically, with ALL members acting together.

::: Rank and File :::

​Our ranking system consists of the most precious items for a seamstress. We do this in the spirit of our faction name, as well as a great little way to speak in code in public. Ranks are listed from Highest to lowest:

• ​The Sewing Machine: The faction leader. The one who keeps the Union in order, the one who has the final say in ALL the Union’s activities.

• Fabric Scissors: The two officers of the union. They assist rank below to assist the leader with all union activities.

• Measuring Tape: Four individuals that are assistants to the officers (Two to each officer). These people are in lower management positions. They will help lower ranks with various tasks.

• Needles: This rank is where members who have learned the basics of the union are placed. At this rank you will have opportunities to show just how sharp your jab is into the fabrics of the city. Here is where you’ll truly learn how you wish to design your path to power.

• Thread: The beginning rank of the union, but definitely not the least important! All fine clothes are held together with beautiful threads of many colors. This rank is where you will learn all about the Seamstresses!
