Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for! Been searchin' in the dark; your sweat soakin' through the floor. And buried in your bones, there's an ache that you can't ignore, takin' your breath, stealin' your mind. And all that was real is left behind!
Don't fight it. It's comin' for you, runnin' at ya! It's only this moment- don't care what comes after. Your fever dream, can't you see it gettin' closer? Just surrender 'cause you feel the feelin' takin' over.
It's fire, it's freedom, it's floodin' open! It's a preacher in the pulpit and your blind devotion. There's somethin' breakin' at the brick of every wall that's holding all that you know.
So tell me, do you wanna go where it's covered in all the colored lights, where the runaways are runnin' the night. Impossible comes true, it's takin' over you…
Oh, this is the greatest show!!
With the eyes of the country and the world upon the re-opening of a once prosperous island that almost ended a city in disastrous consequences, the Island of Purgatory has a lot to prove as does what it stands for. Supernaturals, both the Natural and the Unnatural, shouldn't have to hide what they are from the world. Those of the Carnivale, while they exist underground, in the places that the governmental eyes of the US can’t see them, believe this wholeheartedly. They DESERVE to exist exactly as they are, and they are not afraid to show off. \
Members of the COP not only see it as a vital necessity that the supernatural be allowed to live as they are, but also see themselves as better than humanity because they are different. They are tired of being forced into cages, boxes, and closets. They are tired of hiding who they are from the world. So with the glitz, glamour, and the smiles that only come from entertainers, they are pushing for the power to be a force that humanity will acknowledge and one day, bow to. They will play the game, wear the masks, but at the last curtain call, they will be the stars of the show.
COP has a place for all supernaturals and humankind that accept this truth that the rest of the world is not ready to embrace as the performers and workers of Purgatory itself, as those on the island, the ones without a place and are pushed out of society. Thieves and drug dealers, charlatans and fortune tellers. Everyone that can carry their own can have a home within the Carnivale.

::: Alors on Danse :::
Are you ready to dance on the edges of the Dark itself? There is a certain way of life that all of the Carnviale of Purgatory abide by. Members that are fully brought into the folds adhere to the following rules:
-
Carnival Business stays Carnivale Business. Whatever the Maestro decides goes, and whatever is done between COP members stays within the membership of the COP. Silence of their goals is the way to keep the Human world off their back, after all. So zip it to protect yourself and everyone else.
-
Do not harm your fellow Carnies. Physically, psychologically, spiritually matters not. You do not harm, steal, or backstab anyone else of the Carnies. If we as a whole cannot look after each other, how the hell can we change the world? We are an united front! We stand together and look out for each other.
-
Stupidity is painful. While all Carnies look after each other over all else, if one of the Carnies messes up to endanger themselves and others in wreckless and thoughtless ways, that Carnie is cut from the group to learn from their mistakes by pain. We cannot save those that do not wish to save themselves. As the saying goes: play stupid games; win stupid prizes.
-
What’s yours is ours, and what’s ours is yours. The Carnivale looks after their own. If a Carnie needs food, shelter, aid, then we provide it. If a carnie needs a weapon or ingredient that another possesses, then Carnies share. COP is a communal group. However, if there is something that needs to be off limits, remember that the Maestro has the final say: If he says no one is to touch or use something, then no one is to.
-
Fun before guns. When engaging in conflict, the name of the game is to have fun at it. Violence is good, but should always be a last resort. Violence is not allowed within the Carnivale proper, or its affiliated businesses. They are meant to be safe and fun environments for the Carnies. It’s optional for guests in the Carnivale proper. And never, ever, make an assumption on territory disputes or outside property without Maestro’s word. Whatever the Maestro says is the only law meant to be followed.

::: Job Descriptions :::
The Carnivale of Purgatory hides within the business industry, therefore all the members are referred to in terms of their primary ‘job’ within the faction. This helps talk in code when needed as well as preserves the Carnivale’s roots.
-
Maestro: The name for the Carnivale’s leader. When speaking to the Leader on a faction basis, only the name Maestro is to be used at all times. Names have power, and Carnies are not ones to give up their power if they can help it.
-
Harlequin: the Harlequin of joy and the Harlequin of Sorrow are the two Officers of COP. Joy assists Maestro in communications and keeping the Carnies engaged and happy, while Sorrow assists the Maestro in keeping all Carnies and their beasts and guests in line.
-
Performers: As a unit, the Performers act as the elite team of the Carnivale, individually, they are in charge of a certain part of the Factions businesses. There is the Juggler, that balances all transactions, The Tamer, which is the one in charge of all Nobodies. The Artist is in charge of all jobs and those that are running them. The Caddy is the head of production and merchandise. The Bouncer is the head of all security of Carnivale territories.
-
Carnies: Carnies are the general members of the group, but also considered senior carnies based on their time within the Faction and their level of success. When it comes to looking for help, the Performers will always make sure a Senior Carnie is involved to help all the younger Carnies out.
-
Nobodies: Those that first sign up and are being tests for their merit within the Faction are consider Nobody until the Maestro gives them a purpose. The Nobody period can last anywhere from five minutes to five years.

Even with the Island currently closed off to visitors, many of the Carnies hang out in the maze that is Oldetown. Most are known to gather around the Asian Alley, the Forgotten Knight, and the Speakeasy, a Murder of Crows. All one needs to do is look and ask around to be somebody. The Carnies will find you.
